In 2024, another assessment of the effectiveness of the activities of scientific institutions of the NAS of Ukraine and their divisions was conducted. According to the results of the report, the State Institution “Institute of Environmental Geochemistry of the NAS of Ukraine” was assigned to the highest category “A”, which indicates a high level of scientific performance, the importance of research and its practical significance.
All the main divisions of the Institute were also classified as category “A”:
- Department of Nuclear Physical Technologies;
- Department of Radioactive Waste Management Problems;
- Department of Mineral Raw Materials for Nuclear Energy;
- Department of Environmental Geology and Thermodynamics of Geospheres;
- Department of Experimental Radiogeochemistry;
- Department of Environmental Protection Technologies and Radiation Safety.
The Institute of Environmental Geochemistry of the NAS of Ukraine is engaged in fundamental and applied research in the field of geochemistry, ecology and radioecology. Its activities are aimed at assessing and minimizing the impact of technogenic factors on the environment, developing methods for cleaning contaminated areas and ensuring the country’s environmental safety.
