The IAEA organized the International Conference on Spent Power Reactor Fuel Management in Venice

The IAEA organized the International Conference on Spent Power Reactor Fuel Management in Venice from June 10 to 14, 2024 under the theme “Toward the Moment”.

The topic of the conference covers the handling of spent fuel of nuclear power reactors and the steps envisaged to ensure the safe and efficient handling of new types of spent fuel that will be able to implement new reactor technologies.

Technical solutions to implement the final spent fuel management steps that will soon be deployed (e.g., geological storage), anticipating the spent fuel management challenges of new types of reactors, and integrating them into existing spent fuel management programs make the necessary critical moment for nuclear energy   energy.

Reports were presented from the National Academy of Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences:
#21 Yu. L. Zabulonov and B.P. Zlobenko, the title of the report: “Implementation of MMR and the end of the fuel cycle in Ukraine” and  #22 B.P. Zlobenko, Yu.L. Zabulonov, title of the report: “Activities in Ukraine on the geological disposal of spent fuel and high-level waste”
