The state institution “Institute of Environmental Geochemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine” complies with LAW OF UKRAINE #2866-IV  About ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men

The purpose of this Law is to achieve a parity position of women and men in all spheres of life in society through the legal provision of equal rights and opportunities for women and men, the elimination of discrimination based on gender and the application of special temporary measures, aimed at eliminating the imbalance between the opportunities of women and men to exercise equal rights granted to them by the Constitution and laws of Ukraine.

Regulations on ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men | View

DU “IGNS NAS of Ukraine” strives to create and maintain a scientific environment that promotes equality for all employees, regardless of their gender identity. The goal is to ensure equal opportunities, respect and fair access to resources for all employees of the Institute.

According to the Procedure for conducting a competition for filling vacant positions ( http://surl.li/sbbsj) the competition is held in compliance with the principles of legality, openness, openness, transparency, non-discrimination, integrity, effective and fair selection. If two candidates apply for the same position, who have the same professional qualifications and fulfill the conditions of the competition at the same level, then preference is given to persons of the gender with respect to which there is an imbalance. So, as of December 31, 2023, the number of female researchers is 43 (35% of the total number of researchers). Women hold 5 management positions(3.4% of the total number).

State University “IGNS NAS of Ukraine” evenly distributes time between work and family time in accordance with the Rules of thework schedule of yesterday (https://salo.li/B8253C9).

The IGNS of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine prohibits any form of discrimination, including on the basis of gender identity and orientation. All employees of the Institute have the same rights and opportunities, regardless of their gender. Equal working conditions, career development and opportunities are provided for all employees, regardless of gender. According to Regulations on the procedure and procedures for resolving conflict situations (https://salo.li/1477388 )  gender equality policy is the basis for ensuring an open, fair and humane environment. In its activities, the State institution “Institute of Environmental Geochemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine” complies with the legislation of Ukraine in the following areas:

  • detection, countermeasures, prevention of corruption and settlement of conflict of interests;
  • ensuring gender equality;
  • counteractions to all types of discrimination;
  • combating sexual harassment and regulating conflicts in interpersonal relationships of subjects of the scientific and educational environment;
  • other  conflicts in the team.
