The State Institute of Nuclear Safety of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine has become a member of the European Industrial Alliance for Small Modular Reactors (SMR). The Institute’s employees were invited to participate in the webinar on the safety assessment of small modular reactors “From Challenges to Achievements”, organized by the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA).
Researchers from the State Institute of Nuclear Safety and Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine reviewed the results of the safety assessment of small modular reactors (SMRs) and support the implementation of SMR technologies in Ukraine.
As interest in advanced nuclear energy technologies continues to grow, SMRs are presented as a promising solution for clean, flexible and scalable energy production. This workshop disseminated information about current and future initiatives at the international level related to the safety assessment of SMRs.
